Help! How do I use this website?
It's easy, follow these instructions:
- Open the map - click here to see the map.
- Find a landmark on the map. You can use the zoom function and the north, south, east and west arrows to move around, or you can use the search function to search by postcode or types of landmarks and find something that interests you in London. You can also grab and drag the map around to navigate by using your mouse.
- Click on the little icon of the landmark to find out more - a pop up bubble will appear and tell you about the landmark and the suggested donation required in order to adopt it.
- If you want to adopt it, click 'adopt me' in the pop up bubble. Otherwise, keep searching the map for something else.
- Fill in your personal details on the first donation page. The landmark will be reserved as 'under offer' for a few minutes so you can do this. If you change your mind at this stage it will take a few minutes then the landmark will be released back to be able to be adopted.
- Fill in your credit card details on our secure page.
- Edit the description text and up-load images for the landmark you have adopted. You also have the chance to do this afterwards if you want and the link will be sent to you in the email.
- You'll receive an email confirming your adoption that includes a certificate. Thank you - you have donated money to Help a London Child!
